Vande Matram Scheme
Vande Matram Scheme which was launched in 2004 is major
initiative in public-private partnership with the Federation of obstetric and
Gynecological Society of India (FOGSI). FOGSI has volunteered to participate in
the national endeavour for reducing maternal mortality and improving health of
women particularly during pregnancy and child birth. The scheme envisages
provision of free outpatient services including antenatal check-up to all
pregnant women and family planning counselling to new mothers regularly by the
government and private doctors.
