Information and Communication Technology [ICT] in School scheme, the Union Government would provide 75% of financial assistance to State/UTs. The balance 25% of funds would be contributed by the State Governments/UTs.
Description
This scheme aims to provide opportunities to secondary stage students to develop Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and also for ICT aided learning process. It enables widespread availability of access devices, connectivity to the Internet and promotion of ICT literacy.

Each State Government/ Union Territory would convert one school per district into a smart school subject to availability of funds. A grant of not more than Rs.25 lakhs would be given per smart school. This limit may be reviewed in the future, if needed. A sum of Rs.2.5 lakhs shall be provided as recurring costs which includes maintenance, consumable, internet useage and monitoring costs.
How to Avail
The financial assistance is given to States and other institutions on the basis of the approvals accorded by Project Monitoring and Evaluation Group (PM&EG) headed by Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy.

Description
The Scheme of Integrated Education for the Disabled Children (IEDC) has been replaced by the scheme of Inclusive Education for the Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) with effect from 1.4.2009. The scheme IEDC was meant to cover all classes in the school education stage. With the coverage of children with special needs in the elementary stage under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the scheme of IEDC was replaced by IEDSS under which children with disability in the secondary stage (classes IX to XII) are covered. The objective of IEDSS is to enable the disabled children who have completed eight years of elementary education to continue their education at the secondary stage in an inclusive environment in regular schools.

The scheme will cover all children of age 14 + passing out of elementary schools and studying in secondary stage in Government, local body and Government-aided schools, with one or more disabilities as defined under the Persons with Disabilities Act (1995) and the National Trust Act (1999) in the age group 14+ to 18+ (classes IX to XII), such as Blindness, Low vision, Leprosy cured, Hearing impairment, Locomotor disabilities, Mental retardation, Mental Illness, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and may eventually cover Speech impairment, Learning Disabilities, etc.
How to Avail
The assessment team may include an interdisciplinary expert team of special educators, clinical psychologists, therapists, doctors and any other professional support based on the students' needs.

During the Silver Jubilee year of Independence, a Central Scheme for grant of pension to freedom fighters and their eligible dependents (Where freedom fighters have already expired) was introduced by Government of India with effect from 15.08.1972. In 1980, the Scheme was liberalized and renamed as Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme,1980 (the Scheme) and made effective from 01.08.1980.

Eligibility criteria
All the persons who participated in the freedom movement in some way or the other are not eligible for Samman Pension. Only certain identified categories of freedom fighters are eligible for the Samman Pension under the Scheme.
How to Avail
Persons who consider themselves eligible for Samman Pension under the Scheme and desire the Samman Pension, should apply in duplicate on the prescribed application form. The application, duly filled in and supported with required documents as proof of claim of suffering, should be sent to the Chief Secretary of the concerned State Government/ Union Territory Administration. A copy of such application should be sent to the Deputy Secretary to the Government of India, FF Division, MHA, New Delhi as an advance copy, for consideration.
