Scheme : Janani Suraksha Yojana



Janani Suraksha Yojana

Jnanani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) by way of modifying the existing National Maternity Benefit Scheme (NMBS) has been launched in 2005. The objectives of the scheme are reducing maternal mortality/infant mortality through increased delivery at health institutions. While several interventions for improving maternal health have been under implementation, it is felt that effective care is possible by making available essential and emergency obstetric services, by way of focusing at increased institutional car, among women in BPL families.

Vande Matram Scheme

Vande Matram Scheme which was launched in 2004 is major initiative in public-private partnership with the Federation of obstetric and Gynecological Society of India (FOGSI). FOGSI has volunteered to participate in the national endeavour for reducing maternal mortality and improving health of women particularly during pregnancy and child birth. The scheme envisages provision of free outpatient services including antenatal check-up to all pregnant women and family planning counselling to new mothers regularly by the government and private doctors.

National tree

Banyan tree is the National tree of India. The Banyan Tree is an Indian fig tree, Ficus Bengalensis , whose branches root themselves like new trees over a large area. This tree is considered immortal and is an integral part of the myths and legends of India.

National Anthem

The song "jana gana mana". composed originally in bangali by Rabindranath Tagore, is the National Anthem of Inia Its Hindi version was adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the national Anthem of India on January 24, 1950. it was first sung on December 27, 1911 at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress. The complete song consists of five stanzas. The first stanza consists full version of the National Anthem.

National Emblem

The National Emblem of India is an adaptation from the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. In the original, there are four lions, standing back to back, mounted on an abacus with a frieze carrying sculptures in high relief of an elephant, a galloping horse, a bull and a lion separated by intervening wheels over a bell-shaped lotus. Carved out of a single block of polished sandstone, the capital is crowned by Wheel of the Law
